We are first children before we are made men. He who desires to be a man must first be a child of another. Those who do great things in life have a forerunner. They have someone who has sprinted into the race of destiny and reaching forth to greater things. These men were first children before they were referred to as men. He who desires an understanding heart MUST be a student or child of another like him. Solomon the wisest king in old testament times was a good student of his father, David. Little wonder he emerged the wisest and richest Israeli King ever.
What makes a man is not his looks, account balance, or his position, it is his understanding of things. The book of Proverbs exhorts us to
Get wisdom and in all thy getting, get UNDERSTANDING.
Don't keep company with fools and lazy fellows. Get an understanding of all things that pertains to your life. Your maturity in life and your ability to handle the different situations of your life is determined by your level of Understanding.
Central Truth: You are only as valuable as your depth of Understanding.
