MAXIMISE YOUR SINGLENESS

Yes I knew that Paul had written that those who end up getting married will have distractions, but I often had reservations to that scripture until now. Paul puts it this way:
But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.......but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.  And this I speak for your own profit; ...... but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. {edits mine}

I realised last night the impact a Family can have on a man.
I am presently in camp and I volunteered to work as one of the security officials in camp. I was attached to someone who was putting me through on the work and was practically following him about as this was my first time of working on camp. His family had just arrived yesternight after the night session had ended and afterwards he needed to see them. That took a long while because of network issues. Mean while we had been called on to attend to a situation in the auditorium, some people had just gotten healed and were walking. We were to prevent the crowd from putting unnecessary pressure on them.

I noticed how he had to treat some family matters as regards where they'd stay and all that, while work was waiting for us. I realised immediately that if the family wasn't there he wouldn't have tarried a while before attending to His responsibility.
This is a mild demonstration of a larger picture. Singleness is a blessing. Though you will be married someday and i as well. But know this Paul made a statement about singles like us, he said But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

Singles care for godly stuffs. This is the time for us to remember our creator, these are the times when we can have pleasure in doing things because the strength is available. Don't spend your strength on women, alcohol, or vain things. Invest your strength in an eternal cause.

Central Truth: Your singleness is extremely important. Spend your strength wisely.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 7:32-35

Prayer:
LORD, help me to maximise my singleness in Jesus Name. Amen.

FAILURE IS LEARNING

I came to realise recently that Failure is actually learning. Failure is not the end but its an avenue to learn vital life lessons. We all love success stories but you would realise that somewhere between the story they failed at something or some given endeavour.

Don't run from failure, or rather don't live in the dread of it. John C. Maxwell once wrote a book titled FAILING FORWARD. Failing ought to bring a forward movement since the lessons learnt will be an advantage on your next challenge.
You could learn from the failure of others and you can, Sadly, learn from yours. Proverbs tells us ''For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. " Proverbs 24:16

Have you failed at something, know today that the lessons you could learn far outweighs the sadness you presently feel. I had relented in my communication with some of my executives while serving, in one of the discussions I had with one of them he made me realise my errors, I tried  defending myself so as to avoid the hurt. But I let it go and learnt a big lesson which still resonates with me now. I call it "The Lost Sheep Principle"

If you learn to learn, then you're not permitted to fail twice at the same venture. The scripture confirms this when it says,What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: AFFLICTION SHALL NOT RISE THE SECOND TIME.

Central Truth: Failure is Learning!

Focus Scripture: Nahum 1:9, Proverbs 24:16

PRAYER:
LORD, i receive a teachable Spirit to learn from my experiences in Jesus Name. Amen

ARE YOU TRANSFERRING?

Recently, my memory card crashed and as such all the files I had saved on it was completely lost. Yesterday I wanted to play a game and then I realised that it was  saved on the memory card. Before Now, I had previously sent the game to my Dad's Tablet. This means that I can always retrieve it from there. I didn't know this will happen, but I can reap the benefit.

Today we are speaking of transferring what you've acquired to others. The success of the next generation depends on you and I. You must seek to deliberately pour into them.
The Graces that you've tapped into, the knowledge you've acquired, how much of it have you impacted to others? What would have happened had Abraham not transferred the blessings to Isaac? You'd realise later that the blessing became untraceable after ephraim and mannaseh. They didn't transfer the blessing. But Thanks to Jesus who died to connect us back to the blessing of Abraham. (Galatians 3:13-14)

Much more Jesus said "LAY not for yourselves treasures on the earth where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal". Are you using your healthy wealth to buy up heavenly assets. Have you chosen to invest your God given resources in the advancement of His Kingdom? I decided Sometime ago that the wealth that God gives me will be used for two things: To build up his Kingdom and to contribute to the welfare of man in general.

Central Truth: You can begin to transfer today. You have something to give to man and to God

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Matthew 6:19-20

Prayer:
LORD, I refuse to die with the things that you've deposited in me in Jesus Name. Amen

IDENTITY CRISIS

Before our very Eyes we see a RE-AWAKENING of the customs and practices of Sodom. Nations are increasingly accepting ungodly sexual preferences. There’s only one explanation to this, man has misplaced his identity. Many times when I think about the creation of man, I imagine that God took a mirror and looked at himself as He crafted you and I. We are made in His Image after all.

The Message Version of the Bible translates Romans 1:26-27 thus:

Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn't know how to be human either—women didn't know how to be women, men didn't know how to be men. Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men—all lust, no love. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it—emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches.

It says men didn't know how to be men and women likewise and so they turned to themselves and defiled one another.  Do you know why you were created a Male or a Female? Its more than the physical features. Do you have Lust towards another of your kind? Connect to God now. He has the master plan of your life.

Maintain your connection with God. In him is where we find our being.

Central Truth: only a life without Christ differs crisis

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Romans 1:26-27

CONFESSION:
LORD, in you I live and move and have my being. My understanding is enhanced and I function according to your design in Jesus Name. Amen

SO YOU THINK YOU'RE MATURE?

This was what we treated in our TEENS forum yesterday. Thought to share with All.

In many countries all over the world the legalised age for voting is 18. There is an assumption that whosoever reaches that age must have developed the ability to make the right choices. Also, the law punishes offenders that have reached this age.

Age has its place in our maturity as it opens is up to experiences that we would never have otherwise had, irrespective of how much we read and learn from others. Maturity is a mixture of age and experience.

The first key to growing up or maturing is to KNOW YOUR IDENTITY. It was written of Moses in Hebrews 11:24. It says "by faith Moses when he was come to years, he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter" . At the point of discovering yourself is when maturity kicks in. Moses began to make choices that was consistent with his assignment in life. He must have caught a glimpse of how God saw him.

Do you have a picture of who you are in God's eye? You must begin to ask Him to show you His picture of who you are.

When you see yourself right you will act right.

Central Truth: You begin to grow unto maturity when you see who you really are in God's eye.

Focus Scripture : Hebrews 11:24

Prayer:
LORD, show me a picture of who I am in your sight because you made me in your image. Amen

BREAK OUT, But DO IT RIGHT

I've been seeing a quote that has been very inspiring to say the least. It says when you break an egg from the outside it becomes rotten but when it breaks from inside it produces a fresh life.

How beautiful it is to discover critical wisdom keys from the life of animals around us. Perhaps, I'd stop getting irritated by the sound of the chicken that disturbs next door. Why will an egg be broken from outside in the first place?  It only One reason, because it was separated from its mother.

One truth you must glean today is that we are like this egg and God is our keeper, he broods over our lives consistently. The Psalmist said  he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty.  Under his shadow is the place where God broods over our lives.

Unlike the egg that has no choice, you and I have a choice. Will you allow yourself to be taken away by the dainties the world provides? Or Will you stay under God as he broods you to maturity? Choose Today!

Above all, understand the place of timing. The mother hen is not just sitting for nothing, she's working on the life of her unborn chick, she doesn't stay there forever. It's for a while! Even so God is not idle as regards his presence in your life. God is working, and I mean He's working NOW. Paul says it is God which worketh in you... (Philippians 2:13). It's for a frame of time.

You will Break Out soon.

Central Truth: You've got a choice. Stay under his brooding. Understand his timing.

Focus Scripture: Psalm 91:1

Prayer:
LORD, keep brooding over my life till I come to maturity in Jesus Name. Amen
