KEEP YOUR HEART FIXED

Keep Your Heart Fixed

"He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD."

Before we finished from the University I remember we prayed on a particular issue, and it was as regards our relationship with God. We asked that if Christ tarried 50years from now we should still be found in the Faith. Put differently we were asking God that he helps our heart to stay fixed upon him for as long as he tarries.

The plight of the double minded man is that he never receives anything from God and even his fellow men find him untrustworthy.

The one whose heart is fixed never fears even when the evil ones gather against him. David said "But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head." When your heart is fixed on God you fear no evil.

The only security we have in life is our connection to the Father, every other ground is sinking sand. Your heart is God's dwelling place, he constantly knocks so that you might open and enjoy  fellowship with him.

Keep your trust ALWAYS in the Lord.

Central Truth: Guard your heart it's God's dwelling place. Keep your heart and mind fixed on him.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Psalm 112:7

PRAYER:
LORD, I receive grace to stay focused on you in Jesus Name. Amen

REMEMBER NOW THY CREATOR

REMEMBER NOW THY CREATOR
"Remember now thy creator in the days of thy youth when the evil days come not....

One of the greatest traits found in youths is that the very important things of life are sacrificed at the mercy of the things that matter least. The existence of God needs not be proved or disproved any enquiry into either wouldn't be worth it after all. The firmament, the constellations of the galaxies, the complexities within the human body are more than enough evidence of the existence of our creator God, Elohim.

Yet God tells us as youths to remember him. It means we have the tendency to forget God at the pursuit of other rather seemingly important things. The evil days are surely coming when your strength would not be as it always was, when the things that usually were a delight to you wouldn't be. What would your life amount to at those points..? The greatest and most significant  decision you would ever make it your life is that of the choice of who to be your LORD.

It's about time you settled the question of who your Lord is. It's not in old age you begin your walk with God it's NOW. The seeds of your youth are the fruits of your old age.

CHOOSE GOD.

CENTRAL TRUTH: Remember God NOW. Acknowledge him always.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Ecclesiastes 12:1

PRAYER:
LORD, let me never sideline you all the days of my life. Irrespective of the beliefs of those around me grant me grace to stay stuck to you in Jesus Name. Amen

WHEN IT(SIN) FINISHED

WHEN IT(SIN) FINISHED
"Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death."

Tonight we'd be talking about a topic that's familiar to all. The poor and the rich know it, the great and the small have all been victim of him. He's not an alien to us all. In fact we were conceived with him in us just as David wrote: I was shapen in Iniquity, in sin did my mother conceive me.

Sin is a villain. He never comes with a one time agenda. He comes subtly, he creeps in little by little. He entices us through the things we are drawn to. When we allow him, he immediately begins to unveil his manifesto phase after phase. What scares me about Sin in this scripture are the words WHEN IT(SIN)  IS FINISHED. The other place in the Bible where phrase IT IS FINISHED was used, was when Jesus hung on the cross and was about to dismiss his Spirit.

From this we can gain an understanding of what sin can do. Sin has an agenda to complete in any life that tolerates him. Samson tolerated sin and in the end he lost his two eyes, and died shamefully with his enemies. Judas Iscariot gave place to sin, and when sin finished with him he had no place among the 12 anymore. He had to be replaced.

Are you giving place to sin in your life? You might be enjoying the little pleasures now, perhaps no one knows about it because it is being committed in the secret. Know this: There's nothing hidden that wouldn't be revealed. IF YOU REFUSE TO END YOUR AGREEMENT WITH MR. SIN, HE WOULDN'T HESITATE TO FINISH HIS OWN AGENDA.

Tonight make a decision to eliminate the little foxes that spoil your vine. Deal with  the sins that easily besets you every now and then. Bishop David Oyedepo once said SIN IS A DESTINY SINKER. Sin is not a toy, it is rather a threat to your glorious destiny in Christ.

Central Truth: if you fail to deal with sin it would deal with you severely.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: JAMES 1:15

PRAYER:
LORD, tonight I  end my agreement with every sin in my life. I receive the grace needed to live a life of Righteousness in Jesus Name. Amen
