BE A GOSPEL MERCHANT

I've begun to notice a trend in church circles, and that is the apathy towards the sharing of the gospel. There seems to be an over concentration of the members of the church with themselves that we forget those who are without. A vibrant and living church is one which consistently depopulates the kingdom of the devil and adds to God's Kingdom. The longer we stay in our nice auditoriums, the more the devil sends people to hell. The gospel is the news that is too good to be true. It should be easier to talk about than sports and politics. You do not need skill or expertise to talk about Jesus.  It was said of Peter and John "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus". They were unlearned men.

We were instructed by our Pastor as youths in the church to engage in Evangelism this weekend. So we gathered as youths to go on this mission. I went out with another brother in church. We began to pray before we left and I began to to sense that God will be strategically bringing some people on our path. And that He did. I spoke to a young man who just finished from one of the tertiary institutions in the country. At the end of our conversation, God took hold of him and he gave his life to Christ.

God wants us to be gospel merchants. No one is too big to preach the gospel. The truth is that no matter the level God raises you up to, there are people at that level of yours that need to hear the good news.
I usually say that the least you can do is to pray for those you want God to save. But you must move on from there, start a conversation with someone about Jesus. You never know, that person might just be a step away from hell. Be the link to someone's salvation.

Let's end with this admonition from Paul to Timothy "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine"

Central Truth: be a carrier of the gospel not only in actions but in words.
ACTION POINT: Talk to someone this week about the saving grace of Christ and invite him/her into a relationship with God.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 4:2

Prayer:
LORD, help me to be steadfast in the preaching of the gospel. Let me not be weary when it comes to talking about Jesus in Jesus Name. Amen

PURPOSE AND INTEGRITY

Purpose is the reason a thing was created. Destiny preceded creation. You and I are here to answer the call of purpose. Men who follow purpose are not bankrupt on integrity. Integrity  means steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. In order to follow God's purpose for your life, you must maintain a standard of integrity; strict adherence not only to moral principles but godly principles. Paul makes us understand that godliness profits in every way and has benefits both in this life and in the life here after.

Great men do not compromise on the principle of integrity. They are strict in the way they conduct themselves. They have a strong inner compass based on tested principles that guide their decisions, utterances and responses every time. See what Solomon says about this: "The integrity of the upright shall GUIDE them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them"
As believers we have a more sure word of prophecy to take heed to. The word of God when followed will enable us develop integrity as we walk in purpose. A person of integrity doesn't live a double-life, such a person doesn't profess one thing and lives out just the opposite.

Check out men like Paul, David, Peter, Job etc. These walked in God's purpose for their lives, and this was backed up by a personal life of Integrity. You'd see in Job that he kept his integrity through his trials. When the journey of life gets tough your reputation might not mean much but your integrity before God and man will speak.

I wrote about a particularexperience in my just completed book: CRESTED TO SERVE. While in service, I got speaking with a young man who boasted about how frequently he had sex. It seemed like it was something to lift a medal for. I told him I knew where I was going in life and couldn't compromise by living such a life. He was uncomfortable with my answer and tried to justify his actions to which I refuted saying "There is more to life than sex". He wasn't led by strict moral or godly principles.

He doesn't seem to know that pre-marital sex is not enjoyment but fornication and it has its consequence. People who are purposeful know the terms of engagement in this life. It pays to live a life that others can vouch for. People should be able to tell what you are doing at any point of the day, people around you should be able to predict what you'd be doing 5 years from now based on how you've been living your life.

Purpose is constant, but integrity is vital. Don't compromise on it.

Central Truth: You need to imbibe a life on integrity to walk in purpose.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 11:3

Prayer:
LORD, help me to live a life of integrity even as I walk in your purpose for my life in Jesus Name. Amen

GRACE SUPERSEDES

In book of Ecclesiastes Solomon explains that wisdom excels folly as far as light excels over darkness. In the same vein grace also supersedes sin. As long as you're under the government of God's grace sin has no dominion over you. The government of grace is more powerful than that of sin.

Paul says that's "Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound". I just completed one of Kenneth Hagin's book titled "The Believers Authority". I had only read a few pages when the light of the word struck my heart on the state of sin. Now, when Jesus came, he didn't only come to cleanse us from our sins with his blood. He dealt with sin once and for all. That's why he won't come again to die, that's why he is presently seated in Heaven as the great high priest with an unchangeable priesthood.

Jesus announced the obituary of sin on the cross over 2000 years ago. What Satan tries to do is to make man believe that sin is still alive. Jesus became sin and took all of our iniquities from birth to death in himself and became the sacrifice for it. Let me explain better. My grandma died a few years ago. Before she died we were very close, I usually went on errands for her quite often. She was a great woman and I learnt a lot from her. But now she is dead, it is practically impossible for her now to call me to do anything for her. Why because she's dead. She's no more.

In the same way, you and I are dead to sin by virtue of what Jesus did. So what does the dead have to do with the living? Sin cannot therefore have dominion over you because it is no longer in government.

Jesus brought abundance of grace. Receive the flow today and reign over sin forever.

Central Truth: Grace supersedes sin.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Romans 5:19

Prayer:
LORD, I receive abundance of your grace today in Jesus Name. I declare that I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Amen.

YOU CAN DO ANYTHING, WITH GOD.

When you choose to face the challenges of life alone, you'd experience limitations. However when you bring God into the equation of your life ALL things become possible.
God specialises in making the impossible possible.

When the angel appeared to Mary he told her she would have a child by the Holy Ghost. It was incomprehensible to Mary. Those were not the days of artificial insemination or test tube babies. It was an impossible thing to think of. Yet she believed God and there was a performance.

The word for Today is that "For with God nothing shall be impossible". Put differently,
GOD + YOU = ALL THINGS POSSIBLE
So what is that issue of concern today, realise that you are not capable of making things happen in your life. You need the backing of God. Paul says that "If God be for us who can be against us". God is for you today. He's no longer angry with you, the gap has been removed and you can freely come into the presence of The Father.

There's nothing you cannot do with God. Years ago while in the university, a lecturer once threatened me saying I wouldn't graduate, only because I submitted my examination papers few seconds after we were asked to submit. This incident happened in my 100 level. Thank God today, it's over a year since I graduated from the University. I left with a second class upper division. I never had to repeat any of the courses I offered. God proved himself despite the threat of a man.

Enter a partnership with the Most High God today and see what difference that will make in your life.

Central Truth: God alone dwells in the realm of the impossible. Go ahead and join forces with Him.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Luke 1:37

PRAYER:
LORD, I enter into partnership with you today. I know I'm destined to succeed as long as I am connected to you.

TAKE CONTROL

There are only a few people who take control of their lives. The steering of their vehicles are in the hands of others and so they have little say over the matters in their lives. When you come to realise that you would give account of how you lived your life in the body it immediately births a consciousness in you that you've got to live a meaningful life. A book written by Gbile Akanni is titled Eternity in View, there's no better reason to take control of one's life than knowing and living with an eternal perspective.

God has given you authority to live this life. The authority is to be exercised in the name of Jesus. Irrespective of whatever confronts you, know that all the power and authority needed to cause a shift in your situation has been made available in Christ Jesus. The scripture says "The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men". The earth belongs to you and I. Nothing should happen in your environment without your permission.
One time I came to know that mankind is yet to scratch even the surface of God's plan. God said in the beginning "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the EARTH, and SUBDUE it: and have DOMINION ...". The earth as described here is not just planet earth but the entire universe. The plan of God is total dominion over everything. Yet we struggle for the little space there is when God has sent us to subdue unchartered territories.

This has far reaching implications. Do not stay where others are, don't try to go where others have been. Paul was of this mindset. He didn't go to preach where Christ was already named. He went to places where Christ was never known and manifested the kingdom of God to them by the preaching of the Good news and demonstration of the power of God.

Take control not of what others have finished but of things God has uniquely put in your hands to do.
You've got ALL the power you'd ever need.

Central Truth: God works in agreement with us. As we work so he responds in Heaven.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Psalm 115:6

PRAYER:
LORD, I choose to exercise dominion. I receive courage to step into new territories in Jesus Name. Amen

MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

My mother was talking about certain events that occurred recently in our environment that clearly shows that many people have nothing to occupy their lives than sniffing around to know what happens in the lives of the people around them. It simply reminds me of that cliche that says "There are those that watch things happen and there are those that make things happen". Those who make things happen, those who take life seriously are always good ingredient for News and gossip for those who watch things happen.

Now this attitude isn't limited to older folks it applies to the youths as well. From the secondary to the tertiary there are always those who seem to know how to manage the business of others than theirs. Rather than bother on the progress of others, why not pursue your life's purpose and calling and soon enough you'd become News for others.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:11 it says "And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you". You've got your own life as a business. Be occupied in purposeful venture. What is the worth of a gossip? I'm sure it is not worth  a kobo.
Paul says it here as a command that you work with your own hands. Idleness gives room for idle talk. Be careful. You are too loaded with potential not to be busy doing something productive with your life.

Personally, I don't have the time and mental space to be bothered about the progress of others. I'm happy when I see my colleagues make progress. They're also happy and supportive when I accomplish milestones. That's the way it should be. I finished Youth Service and was home, there was no time to waste at all as God began to speak to me about the future of the youth organization I was running. I began work immediately. Teens Frank Talk is one of them. Other initiatives are going on behind the scene. I completed my fourth book few weeks after service. There was no room to be roaming around the street.

Do what is needful today. Focus on yourself. Mind your own business and the profits will be worth the while.

Central Truth: Your life is a business. Only you can make it worth it.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: 1 Thessalonians 4:11

PRAYER:
LORD, help me to focus on your business for my life. I refuse to be idle in Jesus Name. Amen

Who are you looking for? Helpers or Destiny Helpers.

Today's word was inspired by the thoughts that came into my heart some days ago. I realised that many people are seeking and praying for Helpers in different areas of their lives. It is a good thing to desire, unfortunately many may never get the answers to their prayers, this is not because God doesn't love them but because they've got it all muddled up.

God has promised us a sure Help. Jesus said to his Disciples "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever". In other words, the Holy Ghost is our primary helper. He resides in us as believers and communicates the mind of God to us when we are opened to His leading in our lives.

However, we need people around us to assist, and help us in different areas. But I realised that God arranges people to help us on the journey to destiny. So, true Helpers come to those who are walking in destiny. That's why they are called Destiny Helpers. Paul met Barnabas who helped him to be accepted in the fold of the believers in his day. Moses met Aaron who stood by him. Gideon was able to raise an army to fight the battle God had prepared him for.

It happens that we often think that people will complete us, other times we expect someone to show up out of the Blues to make things happen in our lives. It may occur this way but it doesn't always happen like that. Be about what God has called you to do and you can be sure that the right people who come your way.

Your destiny carries an attraction with it. It attracts those who will build,  benefit and brighten your destiny.
We've been running our youth organization for almost two years now. Just last week we added a new leader to the Leaders' Team. He's been extremely contributive and supportive.

You'd meet destiny Helpers but be committed to your destiny.

Central Truth: God has already planned it all out. All the things that you'd ever need are provided in your destiny. As you walk in it, helpers will come in contact with you.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: John 14:16

PRAYER:
LORD, help me to stay on the path of my destiny and let me not miss the helpers you're sending my way in a Jesus Name. Amen.

DESTINY CHANGERS Vs DESTINY HELPERS

If you were on a journey to Ibadan and suddenly someone convinced you to take a bus going to Abuja claiming that it is shorter and cheaper, what would you do? You'd probably think the person is a joker. But you would believe if you never knew the way to Ibadan and you've never bothered to ask anyone until then. He would have succeeded in changing your route.

In the same vein, Destiny cannot necessarily be destroyed, it can only be changed. Just as energy cannot be destroyed but converted from one form to another so can destiny be changed.

I believe God has given us our destinies long before we were born. The scripture confirms this when God told Jeremiah "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations". Also Romans 8:29 says "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren"

God's calling for us is irreversible. However, we can alter the paths of our destiny ourselves.

Looking at the scriptures and lives of people that have lived and gone. We can observe a trend in their lives. Some at crucial points in life met people that supported them and in the end they were able to fulfil the purpose for which they were created. While others sadly, had their destinies altered negatively and ended up far from where God had intended. The question is: Are you being surrounded by destiny helpers or destiny changers?

Moses found Aaron who helped him tremendously in his pursuit of destiny. Paul met Barnabas at a crucial point in his life and this affected his life and ministry positively,in that he helped him in coming into the fold of people he once persecuted. On the other hand Samson met a Delilah who changed his destiny. He was destined to be a deliverer of Israel but his Romance with the harlot led him to fight personal battles rather than national ones. She limited the expression of God's purpose for his life. You know the result. He died with his enemies.

So you must know your destiny and be about it. Don't let your friends change the course of God's purpose for your life.

More importantly be a Destiny Helper to someone else not a Destiny Changer.

Central Truth: Destiny can not be destroyed but changed. Ensure that you do not deviate from God's original plan for you. Check now if you haven't veered off course.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 1:5

PRAYER:
LORD, put far away from me people that will change Your Destination for my life. Bring people that will help me in reaching Your destiny for my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

CONNECT!

There is a tremendous Blessing in the transfer of grace from a father to a son. When we do a head count of the great men alive today, from the church down to other aspects of life, many of them are aging. It is time for the younger generation, that is you and I, to connect to the blessings and grace that these men and women carry.

Thinking of the blessing of Abraham. Isaac his son couldn't have received The Blessing any other way than through his father. God had blessed Abraham and swore by Himself to bless him. Isaac received the Blessing from his father. Jacob cheated his brother, but he also received The Blessing. Jacob blessed his grandsons but it seems the children of Ephraim and Manasseh were not interested in The blessing. Hence, the transfer of The blessing was not recorded in scripture any more until Jesus came.

Now, the charge here is for us to connect to our fathers, leaders, those who have gone ahead of us. There is  much to learn and receive. Do not let them die like Elisha. We must be a recipient of the Grace they carry.

One scripture comes to mind here. It would be beneficial if you read Proverbs 30:11-14. Here are of two of the verses: "There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.... There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up."

This generation speaks evil of their fathers. In the news you can hear and read all kinds of negative things been said and written about men that God has ordained over the church in this age. The very men and women who are to equip us, to perfect us as Saints are being maligned. It seems every statement a Pastor or leader makes is an avenue for the media to profit from.

Don't be a part of that generation. Be part of the ones that respect their fathers, that receives instructions from their mothers. Connect to Grace!

Central Truth: You cannot stand alone. Connect to the grace of those ahead of you.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 30:11-14

Prayer:
LORD, have mercy on this generation that despises the relevance of our fathers. Help me rather to sit and learn under their tutelage in Jesus Name. Amen

YOUR DELIVERANCE

People pay more for ignorance than they pay for knowledge. Yet, people would rather hold on to the little they know rather than pursue what they do not know. More than ever, as a believer, we must recognise that we need to pursue a deeper knowledge of God and His Word.

When a sinner repents, in that moment God delivers him from the power of darkness and translates into the kingdom of his dear son {Col1:13}. We are delivered from the hold of darkness and set free by the power of the cross. Nevertheless, we do not know all that we should know. Hence, we must pursue knowledge to stay on top and above the wiles of the enemy in this world.

The book of Proverbs says "An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered".The righteous will be delivered by knowledge. Your deliverance from poverty, Sickness, condemnation, sin, is a function of your knowledge. Jesus told those Jews "and you shall KNOW the truth and it will set you free"

It is this same ignorance that causes many to be prey to the enemy over and over. Yes! You are the Righteousness of God, but you must pursue knowledge to overcome the wiles of the devil.

While in the university I came to discover that "I have more understanding than my teachers" Psalm 119:99-100. That word gave me a huge leverage as my grades sky rocketed to higher levels and I ended up with a Second Class Upper in Political Science.

Your level of knowledge determines the level of freedom you enjoy.

Central Truth: Pursue knowledge your deliverance is tied to it.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 11:9

Prayer:
LORD, I refuse to be ignorant, baptise me with the Spirit of Knowledge in Jesus Name. Amen

What is the Value of your Words?

I've been fascinated by the fact that certain people speak for a few minutes or hours and are paid millions. While others speak endlessly everyday with nothing to show for it. Worse still others spread lies, deceit with their lips. What is the value of your words? What you say determines the quality of the life you live and the kind of people that will be attracted to you.

One scripture readily comes to mind. It says "A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth, and with the increase of his lips shall he be satisfied". What you constantly do with your mouth eventually fills you up. When you are given to raining abuses at no cost, or criticising others at every chance, you are filling yourself with the very same stuff you're giving out.

In case you're wandering what to begin to do with your lips, or what  to say here's a tip from Proverbs 20:15. It says "There is gold and multitude of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel". Let your heart begin to desire knowledge, seek to know more, and your words will be a delight to those who hear you. The lips of knowledge is a precious jewel. People do not just buy jewels. They usually bid for it. People will search you out when your words are filled with knowledge.

Paul puts it this way to the Ephesians, he says "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, THAT IT MAY  MINISTER GRACE UNTO THE HEARERS". Let your words be loaded with grace and not condemnation. Speak edifying words, be generous with compliments, encourage others freely.

As you stay in the pursuit of knowledge you'd become someone that everyone wants to listen to. Others will pay to have you speak to them. Do not underestimate the power and value of your words.

Central Truth: Your words have value but you determine what it's worth.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 18:20

Prayer:
LORD, use my lips as a channel for ministering grace to others in Jesus Name. Amen

KEEP IT IN MIND TO DO GOOD

Everyone has got capacity for good. We have an innate knowledge of what's good and otherwise. This ability is further enhanced when we are saved. We now begin to do things that align with the will of God. God is good, we always say. In other words, good things and God are synonymous.

Doing good includes the following: Giving to the poor. Reaching out to those in need. Being a helper to those who lack things in the church. You don't need a million dollars to do good, neither do you need to be the president to do good to others. You only need to have the mind of Christ and compassion for those in need. One American President before he retired to sleep every night will answer the question "what good did I do today?"

Ask God to open your eyes today to see the Good that you must do.

Central Truth: You can do good things with what you have and where you are.

PRAYER:
LORD, open my eyes to see the Good that I must do in Jesus Name. Amen

MORE THAN ENOUGH

On earth we are limited by many factors. The limits of our world often places a limit on our thinking and many times we think God is bound by the things that limit us. God is limitless, He himself is the limit.
Today God wants us to know that He is more than enough for us.

I went on a recruiting mission some days ago and while the discussion went on, I had a nudge that we should say a prayer afterwards. Immediately we began to say few words in prayer the Holy Spirit took hold of us and we prayed more and longer than we had anticipated. Afterwards, God confirmed His Word in our hearts.  He revealed  a picture where he lifted up a lid as though from our minds. Thus signifying that we shouldn't limit him or have a small perspective to what he has assigned us to do. Very real became the scripture, Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. God is ALL Sufficient.

God is more than enough to get you a job. He is more than enough to help you succeed in your exams. He is more than enough to Heal you. He is more than enough to meet every of your desires. God never answers us according to the Measure of our request, he exceeds it. That's why many times I feel that my personal needs are too little to pray about. That's what Paul meant in 1Timothy 2:1 when he wrote "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, BE MADE FOR ALL MEN. In other words, we are to include others in our prayers.
Rest in the revelation that God is more than enough for you.

Action Point: Remember to include others in your prayers today and henceforth.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 3:20

PRAYER:
LORD, i rest in your sufficiency as I trust you to meet all my needs in Jesus Name. Amen

YOUR VALUE, YOUR NAME.

What is the value in a name? I realised that when Jesus had completed his assignment on earth, it was recorded that God gave him a name above every other name. How can that be? What exactly is in a name? Is a name not just a combination of letters that have a sound which is used to identify us?
What makes the name of one person significant than the other?
For instance, when we mention Moses, we think of the great leader that led the Children of Israel out of Egypt. When we mention Paul, we think of the great apostle that wrote 2/3 of the new testament.

The book of Proverbs says: "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.". A "good name" it says. How do we get this good name? Looking at Jesus it was said that he humbled himself to the death of the cross and God gave him the name.

The above scripture says a good name is to be "chosen". In other words, you have the power to make your name a good oneand that is by making a choice. When you follow the purpose of God for your life and you align yourself with the principles of the kingdom you are setting yourself up for having a good name.
You must realise that it is what you do with your life that determines the value that your name carries.

I have written four books in all between last year and now, with others in the  pipeline. A number of people have read them. It seems unbelievable to some that what they're reading was written by me. In their hearts now when they think of me they remember the writer, author.

In all, ensure that your name is not only known amongst men, but also in the kingdom of God. Do things that would lead to crowns in Heaven. Win souls, advance the kingdom of God on earth.

Central Truth: You can choose what your name represents in the hearts of people and in the mind of God.

Focus Scripture: Proverbs 22:1

PRAYER:
LORD, help me to fix my mind on the things that build a good name in Jesus Name. Amen.

TILL THE FINAL WHISTLE

It's amazing in a football match where a team is being beaten by a rain of goals in a contest that they stay till the referee signals for the match closure with the whistle.

One of the most intriguing  and somewhat humiliating matches I've ever watched was from the last world Cup. The host team, Brazil played with Germany and they were already down by 5 goals to nothing during the first half. Yet they returned for the second half and the match ended 7:1 in favour of Germany. We know that till the last  minute they played their best game.

There is a vital message for us today from this: Never quit in your journey to greatness. As long as there's life there's hope. Someone said people die at 20 but they are buried at 80. Only death should be strong enough to prevent you from living your best life now. Play your best game now. Stay in the game of life. Unlike the match, In Christ we have the victory. Scripture says "Now thanks be unto God which always causeth us to triumph in christ". You are going to win if you stay in the game.

Are you being persecuted, tempted, going through challenges? Know today that you cannot give in, you've got life and God is by your side leverage on your relationship with him and see him bring you out of it. After all, it is those who endure to the end that will be saved.

Central Truth: You will win if you stay in the game.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 2:14

PRAYER:
LORD, help me to stay in the game of life as I trust you to bring me into victory in Jesus Name. Amen

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CHOICE

I got discussing with a brother yesterday evening and after a lengthy discussion on issues about the vision we are running with I came upon the realisation of the fact that both  Impossibility and Possibility are choices that we make. In other words, nothing is either impossible or possible, it is our choices that make it so.

People who have given up on their relationships, jobs, etc must have viewed Impossibility as inevitable and chose the option. Norman Vincent Peale once made a statement in his book titled "You can if you think you can" he said "When the rock gets harder we get harder than the rock. When the job gets tougher, we get tougher than the job". That's how we have to think in relation to the challenges that we face.
Impossibility thinking is what precedes giving up.

Are you faced with a difficult situation right now? Are you on the verge of quitting? Know today, that Impossibility is a choice. You can make the choice of possibility today.
The scriptures say "With God nothing shall be impossible"

Central Truth: Both possibility and Impossibility are choices we make. Make the right choice.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: LUKE 1:38

Prayer:
Lord, I choose today to embrace a possibility mindset. I partner with you to do things I once thought was impossible to do in Jesus Name. Amen

LIVE LIKE A VIRUS

LIVE LIKE A VIRUS

I used to think that Christianity was more like an anti - virus to the virus of sin and evil in the world today. But now I think otherwise. The Christian life should be lived like a virus. Jesus said "I am come to set fire on the earth, and what will I, if it be already kindled?" That doesn't seem like he was operating with an "anti-viral" mindset. He operated like an invader. When he got into towns and places, demons will begin to scream ever before he even spoke a Word. He entered places and crowds gathered. He healed the sick, raised the dead. He gave the authorities sleepless nights. They had to call emergency meetings to address his issue.

Doesn't that seem more like how viruses operate. When your files are infected, don't they get you worried and concerned? Recently my memory card got spoilt, it got me worried. I know what it feels like. I'm glad because that's how the devil feels whenever he sees a child of God manifesting the power of God. Light excels darkness, the wisdom of God makes the devil useless.

God in the beginning invaded the earth with Light where darkness had previously been prevailing. Wherever I go to stay for a reasonable amount of time it doesn't take long before people recognise that i'm a Jesus child. Not because of my dressing, or an "holier than thou" attitude. It's because of the mindset I've developed over time.

While praying this morning, I finally realised that Satan, the devil, is the anti - virus. That's why he is "Anti - Christ"

Live like a Virus.

Central Truth: You're to live like a virus in your environment. Invade with  the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Focus Scripture: Luke 12:49

Prayer:
LORD, help me to live a contagious Christian life in Jesus Name. Amen

ARE YOU LIVING A FAST FOOD LIFE?

We cannot deny that at one point or another we have entered a fast food to eat or to order food. Why do we do this? Its because of its availability. The idea that the food will be immediately served upon request and payment.

Fast food outlets like Mr. Biggs, Tantalizer, provide good food at High prices. A bottle of soft drink will cost much more than it will be sold outside. The cost of a plate of fried rice and chicken can cook the same meal at home in a larger quantity. Here is the wisdom:
When you desire to take short cuts in life, when you desire instant gratification rather than delayed gratification, you'd pay MORE for it.

It always feels comfortable in a fast food outlet, the environment is cosy and all. Even likewise, whenever we choose to take short cuts in life it looks enjoyable and quick and you begin to wonder why others are putting themselves through so much stress to get things done. Don't be an instant success, follow the process.

When you follow the process, you'd have stories to tell the younger generation. There's nothing spectacular or inspiring in the lives of those who cheat their way to success, or in those who defile themselves to get rich. Proverbs tells us that: "A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent." It says later that "He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him."

So be careful, follow the process. It might be hard but Stay true to it and in due time you will reach your expected end.

Central Truth: Don't chase quick success. Follow the Process.

Focus Scripture: Proverbs 28:20,22.

Prayer:
LORD, help me to be given to the process that births success in Jesus Name. Amen

EMBRACE THE IDEAL

One of the most difficult thing in life is to change. Though everyone wants a better life and a more rewarding future, yet we detest threading the path that lead to such reality.

Those whom we celebrate in the ministry, business, academic, political world today are those who left the familiar and pursued the ideal which they conceived in their hearts. Father Abraham was told "Leave your country, your family, and your father's home for a land that I will show you."
He left behind the luxury and the comfort of his father’s house and departed on a course that altered his life for ever.

This morning God gave me a Word. He said "Do away with the familiar and pursue that which is ideal". The world might want to fix you into its mold but you must ensure that you do not conform. Start out on the journey that God has been showing to you all these while. Its not too early or too late. It begins by first accepting and staying close to the One who has destined you for that journey.

Central Truth: Don't be comfortable with the familiar.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Genesis 12:1

Prayer:
LORD, let me not be comfortable with the familiar, guide me as I proceed into the life that you want me to live in Jesus Name. Amen

ARE YOU CHASING YOUR THOUSANDS?

Before I left the University, I had a very close friend, though the friendship didn't translate into a Formal relationship, yet I got an understanding that I'd share here. I got a revelation that as a single you've got to "Chase your thousand". The scripture says "One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you." You don't have to wait until you find the lady or man to marry before you begin to live your dreams. If you decide to start then it might just be too late. When you decide to live your dream now, to chase your thousands, it will serve as a guide and a compass in choosing a spouse.

When you chose to put your thousand to flight, when you eventually find that special person, you will be able  to put ten thousands to flight. Meaning that you would accomplish more when you find another person already "chasing his/her thousand", already living his dream. The book of Deuteronomy says "How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?"

Wake up and start living your life now. Your future husband or wife should meet you walking in the path of your purpose. Joseph began his chase at 17, Mary was fulfilling her purpose before she was married to Joseph. David slayed Goliath in the days of His youth. You can begin today.

Central Truth: You're to begin to live your dreams now not when you get married.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Joshua 23:10,Deut 32:30.

Prayer:
Lord, in the days of my Youth i refuse to be idle. I receive grace to begin to chase my thousands. To begin to live my dreams now in Jesus Name. Amen.

GET AND STAY FOCUSED

We live in a fast paced world. Everything seems to be happening at the same time, opportunities, discoveries are breaking forth here and there. We cannot deny that we all are being carried in some way by the trend of things.

Nevertheless, we must understand that being carried away by all that is available will prevent us from obtaining that which is needful. I just returned home from the convention, my father was watching a documentary of the life of the cheetah. I have a strong likeness for the cheetah, especially because of its speed. If I could have my may I'd have it as a pet.

One thing about this animal is that when it sights a prey amongst a group of animals, it could be a deer, antelope, it stands up and begins to pursue that particular one, it doesn't loose sight of it until it is apprehended. Surprisingly, when it was in pursuit, there were other animals that were close that it passed by, it never stopped to kill those ones. The cheetah was focused till it apprehended the one which it had first sighted.

When we keep our focus on God's assignment for our lives we will have many distractions but if we stay focused we will reach the mark of the call. In the pursuit of purpose do not settle for what is available around you, pursue what you have conceived in your spirit.

As you go into this week keep this picture in mind. Stay Focused!
Above all, keep your Eyes glued to Jesus Christ. The Bible says: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

Central Truth: Stay focused and don't Settle for what is available.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 12:2

Prayer:
LORD, help me to keep my focus on that which is needful, let me not settle for what is available in Jesus Name. Amen.

BE PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOU

I once read a quote that got me thinking. It read "Rather than seeking greatness, be part of something great". We all have a mindset of wanting to be independent and so we wants to venture into Massive endeavours and as such we fail to understand that the path to greatness is service.

Greatness, though in-Built in us all, must be Ignited on the altar of service. We made history as a church today as we had our first ever service in the 3kmby3km auditorium this morning, though its not yet completed. The sight brought an awe to everyone. I'm so happy to see a great vision in the heart of one man being made reality. Much more, being privileged to serve as an RV was a blessing, as I also officiated on the site.

When you make yourself a part of something great, you're automatically setting yourself up for a greater level of manifestation. My urge today is, Don't shy away from responsibility when you have the chance. Your service is enough to show your commitment towards the greatness of an endeavour. It might be in your church, organization, school wheresoever.
There's greatness in you but you've got to connect to the greatness in others to Ignite your inner greatness.

Remember that being a Son of God by new birth is a matter of our Association with Jesus. Paul says "we are joint heirs with Christ Jesus". On that platform we can do much more because we have become a part and partaker of God's Salvation Project for mankind.

So then, you and I can be more because God is able.

Central Truth: Don't seek for personal glory, be part of something great and greatness will naturally manifest in you.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:16

Prayer:
LORD, let me not seek for personal glory but for that which will leads to the manifestations of your greatness in me in Jesus Name. Amen

HE WATCHES OVER

Yesternight after an hectic day at the camp directing traffic and co-ordinating pedestrians, we all re-treated upon instruction from the Regional Co-ordinator. I had known little Assignment to carry out for the man that I registered with. He had asked me to pass an information to his family.

Upon getting there, I realised they were asleep as well as his children. I could have woken up their mother but I chose otherwise. At that moment I realised that that's how God comes to check on us. I believe he not only checks on us when we sleep but ALWAYS.

The Psalmist says that "The angel of the Lord encamp around those who fear him". Beyond this, the scripture says, "the Eyes of the Lord goes to and fro", in another place it says "Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep."
That's what we must get from today's Devotional. God is your Father, He constantly watches over you.

You are his most precious creation, you are His workmanship, God is watching over His word to perform it in your Life. To someone reading this: God wants you to know right now He is with you.

Central Truth: God is ever with you, even now.

Focus Scripture: Psalm 121:4

Prayer:
LORD, help me to stay conscious of your presence in my life in Jesus Name. AMEN.

MAXIMISE YOUR SINGLENESS

Yes I knew that Paul had written that those who end up getting married will have distractions, but I often had reservations to that scripture until now. Paul puts it this way:
But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.......but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.  And this I speak for your own profit; ...... but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. {edits mine}

I realised last night the impact a Family can have on a man.
I am presently in camp and I volunteered to work as one of the security officials in camp. I was attached to someone who was putting me through on the work and was practically following him about as this was my first time of working on camp. His family had just arrived yesternight after the night session had ended and afterwards he needed to see them. That took a long while because of network issues. Mean while we had been called on to attend to a situation in the auditorium, some people had just gotten healed and were walking. We were to prevent the crowd from putting unnecessary pressure on them.

I noticed how he had to treat some family matters as regards where they'd stay and all that, while work was waiting for us. I realised immediately that if the family wasn't there he wouldn't have tarried a while before attending to His responsibility.
This is a mild demonstration of a larger picture. Singleness is a blessing. Though you will be married someday and i as well. But know this Paul made a statement about singles like us, he said But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

Singles care for godly stuffs. This is the time for us to remember our creator, these are the times when we can have pleasure in doing things because the strength is available. Don't spend your strength on women, alcohol, or vain things. Invest your strength in an eternal cause.

Central Truth: Your singleness is extremely important. Spend your strength wisely.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 7:32-35

Prayer:

FAILURE IS LEARNING

I came to realise recently that Failure is actually learning. Failure is not the end but its an avenue to learn vital life lessons. We all love success stories but you would realise that somewhere between the story they failed at something or some given endeavour.

Don't run from failure, or rather don't live in the dread of it. John C. Maxwell once wrote a book titled FAILING FORWARD. Failing ought to bring a forward movement since the lessons learnt will be an advantage on your next challenge.
You could learn from the failure of others and you can, Sadly, learn from yours. Proverbs tells us ''For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. " Proverbs 24:16

Have you failed at something, know today that the lessons you could learn far outweighs the sadness you presently feel. I had relented in my communication with some of my executives while serving, in one of the discussions I had with one of them he made me realise my errors, I tried  defending myself so as to avoid the hurt. But I let it go and learnt a big lesson which still resonates with me now. I call it "The Lost Sheep Principle"

If you learn to learn, then you're not permitted to fail twice at the same venture. The scripture confirms this when it says,What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: AFFLICTION SHALL NOT RISE THE SECOND TIME.

Central Truth: Failure is Learning!

Focus Scripture: Nahum 1:9, Proverbs 24:16

PRAYER:
LORD, i receive a teachable Spirit to learn from my experiences in Jesus Name. Amen

ARE YOU TRANSFERRING?

Recently, my memory card crashed and as such all the files I had saved on it was completely lost. Yesterday I wanted to play a game and then I realised that it was  saved on the memory card. Before Now, I had previously sent the game to my Dad's Tablet. This means that I can always retrieve it from there. I didn't know this will happen, but I can reap the benefit.

Today we are speaking of transferring what you've acquired to others. The success of the next generation depends on you and I. You must seek to deliberately pour into them.
The Graces that you've tapped into, the knowledge you've acquired, how much of it have you impacted to others? What would have happened had Abraham not transferred the blessings to Isaac? You'd realise later that the blessing became untraceable after ephraim and mannaseh. They didn't transfer the blessing. But Thanks to Jesus who died to connect us back to the blessing of Abraham. (Galatians 3:13-14)

Much more Jesus said "LAY not for yourselves treasures on the earth where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal". Are you using your healthy wealth to buy up heavenly assets. Have you chosen to invest your God given resources in the advancement of His Kingdom? I decided Sometime ago that the wealth that God gives me will be used for two things: To build up his Kingdom and to contribute to the welfare of man in general.

Central Truth: You can begin to transfer today. You have something to give to man and to God

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Matthew 6:19-20

Prayer:
LORD, I refuse to die with the things that you've deposited in me in Jesus Name. Amen

IDENTITY CRISIS

Before our very Eyes we see a RE-AWAKENING of the customs and practices of Sodom. Nations are increasingly accepting ungodly sexual preferences. There’s only one explanation to this, man has misplaced his identity. Many times when I think about the creation of man, I imagine that God took a mirror and looked at himself as He crafted you and I. We are made in His Image after all.

The Message Version of the Bible translates Romans 1:26-27 thus:

Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn't know how to be human either—women didn't know how to be women, men didn't know how to be men. Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men—all lust, no love. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it—emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches.

It says men didn't know how to be men and women likewise and so they turned to themselves and defiled one another.  Do you know why you were created a Male or a Female? Its more than the physical features. Do you have Lust towards another of your kind? Connect to God now. He has the master plan of your life.

Maintain your connection with God. In him is where we find our being.

Central Truth: only a life without Christ differs crisis

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Romans 1:26-27

SO YOU THINK YOU'RE MATURE?

This was what we treated in our TEENS forum yesterday. Thought to share with All.

In many countries all over the world the legalised age for voting is 18. There is an assumption that whosoever reaches that age must have developed the ability to make the right choices. Also, the law punishes offenders that have reached this age.

Age has its place in our maturity as it opens is up to experiences that we would never have otherwise had, irrespective of how much we read and learn from others. Maturity is a mixture of age and experience.

The first key to growing up or maturing is to KNOW YOUR IDENTITY. It was written of Moses in Hebrews 11:24. It says "by faith Moses when he was come to years, he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter" . At the point of discovering yourself is when maturity kicks in. Moses began to make choices that was consistent with his assignment in life. He must have caught a glimpse of how God saw him.

Do you have a picture of who you are in God's eye? You must begin to ask Him to show you His picture of who you are.

When you see yourself right you will act right.

Central Truth: You begin to grow unto maturity when you see who you really are in God's eye.

Focus Scripture : Hebrews 11:24

Prayer:
LORD, show me a picture of who I am in your sight because you made me in your image. Amen

BREAK OUT, But DO IT RIGHT

I've been seeing a quote that has been very inspiring to say the least. It says when you break an egg from the outside it becomes rotten but when it breaks from inside it produces a fresh life.

How beautiful it is to discover critical wisdom keys from the life of animals around us. Perhaps, I'd stop getting irritated by the sound of the chicken that disturbs next door. Why will an egg be broken from outside in the first place?  It only One reason, because it was separated from its mother.

One truth you must glean today is that we are like this egg and God is our keeper, he broods over our lives consistently. The Psalmist said  he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty.  Under his shadow is the place where God broods over our lives.

Unlike the egg that has no choice, you and I have a choice. Will you allow yourself to be taken away by the dainties the world provides? Or Will you stay under God as he broods you to maturity? Choose Today!

Above all, understand the place of timing. The mother hen is not just sitting for nothing, she's working on the life of her unborn chick, she doesn't stay there forever. It's for a while! Even so God is not idle as regards his presence in your life. God is working, and I mean He's working NOW. Paul says it is God which worketh in you... (Philippians 2:13). It's for a frame of time.

You will Break Out soon.

Central Truth: You've got a choice. Stay under his brooding. Understand his timing.

Focus Scripture: Psalm 91:1

Prayer:
LORD, keep brooding over my life till I come to maturity in Jesus Name. Amen

He's Still Committed.

God's gifts and God's call are under full warranty—never canceled, never rescinded. Romans 11:29 MSG

Its been over three months since I last posted any message for Daily Dealings. I just completed my Youth Service on July 2nd. Few days to that date, the Spirit of God began to minister to me and God said clearly  "I am still committed to my purpose for your life"

You know, sometimes you might feel that God is no longer interested in your case, or that he has abandoned you where you are. Joseph went through the same thing, he must  have had all kinds of bad thoughts coming from the enemy. However, he had the understanding that God will bring his purpose to pass.

If you fabricated your own purpose then you'd have to sweat it out alone .But if it's His Purpose relax, God Himself will make it happen.

Central Truth: God's purpose for your life is unchangeable. Stay with God.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Romans 11:29

Prayer:
LORD,  I thank you because you are committed to your purpose for my life. Keep me steadfast as you take me on this journey in Jesus Name. Amen
